It's silly to expect clear roads and smooth sailing after any long weekend, but this traffic jam in Beijing following "Golden Week"—a national holiday celebrating the founding of the People's Republic of China—is next level. The real question: Where are all of the lanes? This particular expressway is split into 50 different lanes, which was whittled down to 20 (hence the mass jam) to accomodate a new checkpoint. Your morning commute debacle is no longer valid.
