Time for a warming whiskey cocktail born in the Windy City.
At the Freehand Hotel's Broken Shaker Lounge in Chicago, bar manager Freddie Sarkis is mixing up a whiskey cocktail that he knows the locals will love.
“We like to blend our menus with things that are culinary-driven and creative, and with things that are a little more familiar for the local palate,” said Sarkis. “It gets cold, so as a result we tend to stick to those warmer and darker spirits all year long, like whiskey. Everybody in Chicago drinks whiskey.”
One of their most popular whiskey drinks is called Get Your Shinebox, and it captures the edgy taste that Chicagoans appreciate.
