For travelers who care about their coiffure, few things are more dreadful than arriving at a hotel to discover an in-room blow-dryer that looks like it was made in the 1980s.
Guests at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago need not fret this conundrum, as the property welcomes the first partner location of DreamDry—the popular blow-dry bar founded by celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe and Robin Moraetes—opening today within the hotel’s Spa & Health Club.
“Whether traveling for business or vacation, women are always looking for beauty services at their fingertips,” says Moraetes. “Opening DreamDry inside the Waldorf Astoria gives our clients ideal access to our glamorous services.”
Such services will range from DreamDry’s signature blowout ($50) to an updo (from $90) and an express styling ($30), with add-ons like a braid ($10) or an Oribe deep conditioning masque ($20). Waldorf guests and residents will also have the option to book an in-room service, while DreamDry clients can purchase a “Dream Day Pass,” ($80) which includes a blowout, conditioning treatment, and access to the hotel’s spa facilities (steam room, sauna, jacuzzi) for the day.
When asked what DreamDry has in store for the future, Moraetes responds: “We’re always thinking about next steps, be it a new style, product, or location,” adding, “Perhaps a warmer destination next!”
News to our ears, as panic sets in with the thought of Caribbean humidity-induced frizz.
