Cowboys, cattle, and country-Western concerts are just a few of the attractions that will headline the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, running this year from March 3-22 in the Lone Star State. The event, an annual mecca for fans of everything Western, is home to the world’s largest livestock show and draws the country’s top rodeo athletes.
For good eats, the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest will feature more than 250 teams in a traditional Texas cook-off Feb. 26-28, just prior to the rodeo opening.
The main event is held in Houston’s NRG Stadium, where fans can cheer for cowboys in events like bareback riding, steer wrestling, bull riding, and more.
Kids Country activities allow the little ones to compete in a pedal-powered tractor pull or Mutton Bustin’ (trying to hold on to a sheep for eight seconds), and families can enjoy rides, games, and cotton candy cuisine at the annual carnival.
Evening concerts feature performers like Tim McGraw, John Legend, Blake Shelton, Ariana Grande and other country greats. For a taste of Texas, this spectacle can’t be beat.
