Enlisting renowned Italian architect Ruggero Venelli, Sheraton has added another upscale property to Lake Como’s enchanting waterfront. The Sheraton Lake Como Hotel (doubles from $192) now welcomes guests with 116 rooms sporting handcrafted furniture from Italian designers, two outdoor swimming pools, and even a private park for sunbathing, jogging, and picnicking.
Previously the Grand Hotel di Como Srl, this strategic conversion happens to be the first internationally branded upscale property in Como, the northern Italian vacation spot famous for a long list of glittering clientele (it was de rigeur for Old Hollywood; George Clooney keeps a house there).
With Venelli’s clean, modern touch, the hotel evokes a hipper vibe—but it’s still got timeless features like close proximity to the shore and we’re-definitely-on-vacation views of the surrounding Alps.
