The vernissage, or preview, of the esteemed art and architecture exhibition kicks off tomorrow morning.
Venice has hosted its Biennale di Venezia since 1895, when the City Council organized the event to showcase Italian art. Today, much of the world, from Albania to Zimbabwe, creates pavilions for Biennale, making it possible to feel as if there is enough art to see you through the next two years, when the Biennale comes around once more. As the art and design worlds descend on this floating city (some of us on the tail of Art Basel), Travel + Leisure will be highlighting some of the fun. First up: a video by Oscar Boyson that runs through the Biennale’s storied history.
