Federal security authorities at the Los Angeles International Airport today seized 450 pork tamales from one traveler’s luggage. The man, coming back from Mexico, failed to disclose that the food in his luggage contained meat, leading members of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to confiscate and destroy every single tasty, tasty corn pocket.
The traveler faces a $1,000 civil penalty for “commercial activity with intent to distribute.” Federal authorities believe he was bringing the tamales back to L.A. to sell around the holidays.
