Art Basel Miami is a marathon of shows, events and all-night parties, so the only way you'll make it to the finish line is by planning some zen time in the form of a spa treatment. When making your trip down south in early-December, pencil in an appointment at one of these six spas spread throughout the beach and Downtown...because what some of these therapists can do to relax your jetset schedule is truly high art.
Escaping the madness of South Beach and heading just 10 minutes away to The Standard Spa on Belle Island, this "hydrotherapy playground" has everything you need for a spa escape in paradise: a Turkish hamam, aroma steam room, Roman waterfall hot tub, Finnish sauna and saltwater infinity pool. You can even clear up pores and get rid of last night's toxins in the form of a mud bath, drying out in the sun on a lounge chair overlooking Biscayne Bay.
Formerly Canyon Ranch, Carillon's spa brings European-inspired thermal treatments to South Beach, with options from a rooftop HydroSpa overlooking the Atlantic to Miami's only igloo with three cryo mist cooling treatments. For something even more extreme, go for the Japanese barefoot massage, where a therapist hangs to a bar overhead using their feet to put pressure on all the right places to get rid of any aches and pains.
Closer to the main Art Basel action at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach brings the brand's signature Shambhala therapies to South Beach, starting with a welcome wellness juice and ending with a trip to the rooftop hydrotherapy pool with ocean views. Opt for the 75-minute Shambhala massage that uses a blend of oils to soothe any lingering stress and help you feel rejuvenated and ready to take on the next round of events.

If you're looking for a more spiritual type of spa treatment, Mandarin Oriental, Miami offers just the thing in crystal form. The Kundalini Journey blends aromatherapy, sound, color and gemstone therapy into a two-hour treatment, placing stones on your chakras and using massage to help find an inner balance for a yoga-like effect that's definitely in need after a week of event hopping.
With its jaw-dropping views and sleek Philippe Starck design, the Viceroy Spa feels like you're walking into a dream, and that's just the effect the designer had in mind. Regal chaise lounges are scattered throughout the water lounge and its floating library, with floor-to-ceiling views of Biscayne Bay in the backdrop. The secret here is in the facials, and the vita-detox option is just what the doctor ordered after a series of sleepless nights and craft cocktails. The 50-minute facial uses a blend of high levels of vitamins A, C and E, as well as minerals and antioxidants, to boost cell growth, leaving your skin with a radiant glow and hiding any hint of last night's party.
One of the closest spas to the convention center, the penthouse agua Spa at Delano offers quicker treatments if you don't have a lot of time to kill. The 30-minute lemon basil bamboo scrub is a great fix for smooth skin, incorporating Dead Sea salt, six types of oils, Vitamin E and an herbal infusion leaving your skin shining and bikini-ready for a trip to the beach later.
