Big spenders love to shell out for this two-level bungalow on chic Collins Avenue, with a private elevator and nearly three times the room space outside.
The Digs: The Penthouse Bungalow at the Miami Edition in Miami Beach, Florida
Size: 2,588 square feet
Price: $10,000 a night
The Skinny: You won't feel like a hotel guest when you stay at the year-old Miami Edition's enormous, bi-level Penthouse Bungalow. Instead, you'll feel like a permanent fixture in Miami's ultra-tan, ultra-moneyed scene. Starchitect Ian Schrager and design firm Yabu Pushelberg designed and decorated the glam new hotel, including the Penthouse Bungalow, with its spiral staircase, private elevator, and double marble baths with an enclosed rainforest shower and exclusive Le Labo amenities. Custom importated linens on the King bed and twin 48-inch flat screens are nice, but you'll spend most of your time outside: the 1,900-square-foot private balcony and roof deck, with its custom oak and walknut tables, cerused bleached consoles, and private rooftop lap pool.
The Backstory: Miami has no shortage of VIP visitors, and the Miami Edition's palm-flanked Penthouse Bungalow is a favorite amongst the beautiful—and wealthy. Linda Evangelista, Kate Hudson, FKA Twigs, and Derek
Blasberg have all reportedly been lured to this extravagant room by the luxe details (ivory porcelain slab floors, direct ocean views) as well as the hotel's grand attractions:
Pro Tip: Next month, Edition will revive their popular weekend barbecues for guests. The Jean-Georges Vongerichten-directed affair is much more than your standard backyard fête. Stop by the Tropicale poolside bar for elevated BBQ, bocce, ping-pong, our an outdoor flick.
