Help support the Food Bank of New York at the city’s biggest pizza party.
The city’s top pizzerias are coming together for the annual Slice Out Hunger event, an epic pizza party benefitting the Food Bank For New York City. Fifty pie slingers are on board to participate in this year's event, including modern maverick Speedy Romeo’s, vegan-friendly Kesté Pizza & Vino, NYC stalwart Joe’s Pizza, and the old-school coal-fired champion, Lombardi’s. All in all, an estimated 1,000 pies will be delivered to St. Anthony's Church on Sullivan Street on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
At the fundraiser, which starts at 6 p.m. and goes on until the last slice is eaten, pizza enthusiasts will sample slices from the city’s best pie-makers for just $1. That means you can grab a slice from places like Roberta's, Di Fara, and Grimaldi's without ever having to step foot in Brooklyn or attempting to unravel the mysteries of the G train. (That alone is worth the trip.) Tickets selling for $1 can also be redeemed for sodas, desserts, and raffle tickets.
Better yet, attendees can mix and match up to 10 slices—with no judgment. After all, it’s for a great cause.
