For the big spender eager to drop at least $10,000 in one night, New York’s most extravagant accommodations—decorated with 2,000 Harcourt goblets and 17 sparkling chandeliers—this is hotel to book.
The Digs: Baccarat Suite, Baccarat Hotel & Residences
Size: 1,740-square-feet
Price: $18,000 a night
The Skinny: When you arrive at the Baccarat from the airport in your private Mercedes S-Class, you may think you’ve been transported to Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors. Pass beyond the entry, dazzling with more than 2,000 Harcourt goblets, chandeliers, and crystal amphorae, and arrive at your luxury suite, fit for French royalty or a Big Apple celeb. Guests are cared for with a dedicated of (sharply dressed) hosts, twice daily housekeeping, and VIP White Glove Services from the property’s flagship store. The complimentary champagne and hair blowouts add to the amenities.
The Backstory: When Baccarat debuted in March, it became the first of presumably many hotels and residences bearing the name of the 251-year-old French crystal brand. It certainly explains the property’s clear obsession with glitter, as well as the plush Grand Salon chairs (where Baccarat Suite guests can enjoy daily included breakfast) upholstered in coyote fur and the assemblage of 15,000 handmade Baccarat glassware.
Pro Tip: Take full advantage of these balmy New York nights by ordering a signature La Vie En Rose cocktail (Lillet Rose, Citadelle gin, grapefruit, Campari, and Ruinart Rosé champagne worth every single one of your $26 dollars) on the aptly-named The Bar’s outdoor terrace.
