Plenty of boutique hotels look like they might be Restoration Hardware showrooms, but soon New York will be getting a boutique hotel that is a Restoration Hardware showroom. Crain’s reports that the luxury home furnishings company is getting into the hotel business with a 14-room boutique in New York City’s meatpacking district.
Restoration Hardware’s foray into the world of hospitality has long been rumored; last year, representatives from the company denied reports that Restoration Hardware planned to open a hotel in its new 70,000-square-foot New York flagship. But according to Crain’s, this boutique hotel will actually be located at 55 Gansevoort Street, which is right around the corner from that flagship.
There’s not any intel yet on exactly which fancy-rustic Restoration Hardware furnishings this upscale hotel will feature—perhaps reclaimed Russian oak canopy bed or the French empire collection?—but it will reportedly double as a showroom for the brand. There are also plans for a ground-floor restaurant.
