If you’re looking for a true mind-body connection this summer, consider taking to the high seas.
For the second year in a row, Spirit Cruises is hosting special Saturday afternoon sailings that feature an on-deck yoga class, a gourmet lunch, and a relaxing tour up the Hudson River. Dubbed Yoga on the Water, this exclusive experience departs out of New York’s Chelsea Piers at 10:15am, followed by a 45-minute class, led by prominent studio Strala Yoga—with mats available for rent from the cruise’s new partner for 2015, Athleta—and wraps up with a two-hour lunchtime cruise that includes dishes like roasted tilapia, ziti primavera, spinach and kale salad, and more.
“There’s nothing like taking classes outdoors to convene with nature,” says Strala Yoga founder, Tara Stiles. “A cruise on the Hudson is a fun venue to practice as we move with ease on the water.”
Ease and simplicity will be central to the experience, as Strala Yoga is known as one of the best studios for beginners. But needless to say, yogis of all levels will enjoy testing their balance at sea—and going home with an Athleta gift bag.
