Here comes one more reason to put New York City at the top of your travel list this summer. The Mandarin Oriental, located on Columbus Circle, will debut 42 remodeled one-and-two bedroom suites, overlooking Central Park, the Hudson River, or the Manhattan skyline.
Each of the suites, designed by global architecture firm HOK, reflects its vistas. For example, the 800-square-foot Hudson River View Suite will have a teal palette. The Central Park View Suite will be done up in vivid red, orange, and yellow hues (to play off the sunrise coming from the east side), while the Premier Central Park View Suites will have tones of amethyst. All have contemporary art and New York-based artist Steve Wasterval. Rates start at $1,795 a night.
