The WET design firm, who did Bellagio’s famous fountain, have launched a six-part fountain installation in Shanghai’s Daning neighborhood.
The people who brought you the famous dancing fountains at the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas have launched an equally resplendent project in Shanghai—a series of ornate fountains that will blend water and fire features throughout Daning Lingshi Park.
The first fountain, Pop, is now up and running—and playing and swimming in the water is encouraged. This is part one of six of the greater Fountains of Shanghai Daning project, which started as part of a rejuvenation effort for the neighborhood, a dense area of mixed-use development.
“Water is envisioned as a significant connecting element, drawing people of all ages and nationalities together,” say the designers of the Los Angeles-based WET. “Pop is the first of several engaging water features designed specifically for children. ‘Pops’ of water both big and small playfully entice kids.”
WET brought you the famed Fountains of Bellagio as well as the Dubai Fountain—the world’s largest. They’ve designed five more fountains as part of the Daning project that will create new landmarks around the park; they open this October and in Spring 2016 .
