For some stupendous scenery don’t miss a drive through the Middelberg and Gydo Passes. The colours of the rocky mountains, the blue of the sky, the blossom of the orchards, fresh green pastures, wildflowers, dams and wading birds combine to create a beautiful sight.
About 20km from Ceres you hit a sealed road. If you’re coming into Ceres from Citrusdal in the north, you feel as if you’ve lost altitude, so when you come out on the 1000m Gydo Pass overlooking the Ceres Valley, the world seems to drop away at your feet.
