If you’re feeling adventurous and want to see stupendous mountain scenery, take the untarred Joubert’s Pass road to Lammergeier Private Nature Reserve . The reserve can also be approached from Rte 58 between Lady Grey and Barkly East; it’s 11km into the pass. Set in a pristine environment, the cattle farm has won awards for its conservation efforts and produces certified organic beef. Kevin Isted offers hiking trails, birdwatching and trout fishing, as well as 4WD, mountain-bike and quad-bike trails.
