This rustic, 300-year-old estate with several fine Cape Dutch buildings is known for its excellent red wines, particularly its cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel. There’s a wine and chocolate pairing option (R80) and lunch is available either at the bistro (call for times, as they change according to the season) or, from October to March, with a picnic on the lawn (bookings essential). It’s a good one for kids, especially on weekends when there are horse-and-carriage rides around the estate.
