Giant baobab trees (Adansonia digitata) , which look like they have been planted upside down with their roots in the air, characterise the region. You don’t have to drive far from Musina to spot some impressive examples of this distinctive tree. Whoppers such as the largest in the country, known as ‘the Big Tree’, located near Sagole in northeast Limpopo, are more than 3000 years old.
