Historic little Qala is dominated by a faux fortress monument opposite which is an impressive Ethnographic Museum Complex. This open-air park features several furnished traditional-style Abşeron buildings (house, smithy, potters workshop) set amid a wide range of archaeological finds and petroglyphs, both originals and reconstructions.
Information booths in Baku's old city sell AZN20 tickets for return excursions to Qala departing at 11am from outside the double gates.
By public transport, Türkan-bound bus 101 from Baku’s Ulduz metro passes within 300m of the museum complex. Walk west along Sulh street to find it. Bus 182 loops round to Mərdəkən.
