Shanghai Science and Technology Museum

Located in Pudong, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum houses three floors of interactive exhibits perfect for a day out with kids. The gallery spaces are divided into 13 themed areas, each covering topics ranging from biological diversity and human health to robotics and space navigation.

The museum also houses four theaters, an IMAX 3D Theater, IMAX Dome Theater, Iwerks 4D Theater and an interactive planetarium-style Space Theater. The museum is constantly rotating the shows, and not all have English subtitles or translations, so check at the ticket counter when you arrive for the latest offerings.

You could easily spend an entire day in the museum, but if you’re pressed for time, give priority to the highly interactive Light of Wisdom Hall, where you’ll find the greatest concentration of hands-on “science experiments” and the World of Robotics, an exhibit where you can play chess, sing, play piano or compete in archery with robots.
