This century-old slaughterhouse deep in the entrails of Kowloon has reincarnated into an artists’ village, its red-brick buildings housing studios and exhibition halls. There are some 20 art organisations inside, including On and On Theatre Workshop . The nonprofit visual art organisation 1a Space is one of the most active tenants in the village, holding regular exhibitions of high-quality local and international art, as well as concerts and theatrical performances. The village itself is an interesting place to visit even when nothing's happening. Its next to a Town Gas storage facility, in the northern part of To Kwa Wan, an area on Kowloon's east coast.
