These odourless, iron-rich springs 12km west of Tingri are piped directly into a tepid public pool (¥20), or you can rent a private room with simple bath (¥40) for a couple of hours. Don't expect spa treatments but it might be just the thing for cleaning yourself off after a day or two at Everest Base Camp.
Accommodation is available (dm ¥35, d ¥280), though it's quite simple and somewhat overpriced. If you do stay there are some pleasant easy walks around the nearby hills that offer superb views of Cho Oyu. The springs are 1km off the Friendship Hwy and are signposted in English near kilometre marker 5206.
