Northeast of Sha Tin town centre is Hong Kong’s second racecourse, which can accommodate up to 80,000 punters. Races are usually held on Sunday afternoon (and sometimes on Saturday and public holidays) from September to early July; a list of race meetings is available from the Hong Kong Jockey Club website (www.hkjc.com).
The Racecourse East Rail station, just west of the track, opens on race days only.
