Originally dating to 1917, this famous mosque is the main place of worship for Shànghǎi’s Muslims. Fridays are the best time to visit, when the faithful stream in to pray at lunch and a large market is held outside the entrance. Women can visit but cannot access the Main Prayer Hall; there is a separate smaller prayer hall for women.
