An eye-catching early 20th century mansion, the Hăiyuán Building combines Southeast Asian features, Western details and the attributes of a hakka (走马楼; zǒumǎ lóu ), a two-storey residence with a wide wooden corridor that keeps the rooms safe and dry. It becomes Hăiyuán Inn (海源客棧, Hăiyuán Kèzhàn) from October 2014.
