Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park
Snorkeling might not be the first activity that comes to mind when you think Hong Kong, but that’s just what’s on offer at Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park. Hoi Ha Wan means "bay beneath the sea" in English, and the park protects a marine environment where 120 species of coral fish and 60 varieties of hard coral live. It’s one of only a few places in the Hong Kong area where corals still grow, and it’s become a favorite among both snorkelers and kayakers.
At Sandy Beach near the village of Hoi Ha, park visitors can rent snorkels, masks and kayaks for exploring the protected waters. The experience is particularly refreshing between May and September, when air temperatures are high and water temperatures comfortable.
