Hollywood Road
Hong Kong is famous for its diverse shopping, and one of its most famous shopping districts lies along Hollywood Road on Hong Kong Island. This street running from Central to Sheung Wan is one of Hong Kong’s oldest (built in 1844), and appropriately, it’s where you’ll find some of the best antique shops.
Dozens of them line the sidewalks, each filled with eclectic collections of Ming dynasty porcelain, cloisonné, snuff bottles and plenty of bric-a-brac masquerading as old artifacts. Joining these shops is an expanding collection of independent art galleries. For those less interested in serious (and seriously expensive) antiques and more interested in picking up some inexpensive souvenirs, the market on nearby Cat Street fits the bill.
Practical Info
While you’re in the area, set aside some time to visit Man Mo Temple, one of Hong Kong’s oldest and busiest.
