India’s broadest waterfall (300m), two-thirds the size of Niagara, is at its roaring best just after the rains, but beautiful year-round, particularly at sunset. When the water is low, it’s possible to paddle in pools at the top of the drop. Take extreme care. In the river below the falls you can swim or get a local fisherman to row you up to the spray (₹55). Take the steps down from the garden of the government-only hotel.
The falls are 40km east of Jagdalpur. The last bus back to Jagdalpur is at 4pm.
