Originally Tipu Sultan’s fort in the 16th century, before Raja Lingarajendra II took over in 1812, today it’s the less glamorous site of the municipal headquarters. Within the fort’s walls are the hexagonal palace (now the dusty district commissioner’s office) and colonial-era church, which houses a quirky museum displaying eclectic exhibits.
