Candolim and Sinquerim Beach
Located right next to Aguada Fort, Candolim and Sinquerim Beaches cater primarily to upmarket tour groups staying at the nearby hotels. These beaches are clean and relatively quiet, at least when compared with the hordes over at Baga and Calangute beaches. The tranquil area and dearth of independent tourists and backpackers make Candolim and Sinquerim good options for travelers looking for a lively but not too chaotic day on the sand.
Both stretches of coastline are characterized by visually appealing rocky headlands. Sinquerim offers windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing and various other water sports rentals, with consistent surf perfect for bodysurfing or boogie boarding. Candolim is recognizable by the huge, rusting tanker, the River Princess, grounded just offshore that has become somewhat of a landmark.
If you’re planning a visit to Aguada Fort, make the steep and often hot hike up to the fort in the morning before cooling off at the beach in the afternoon. There are plenty of restaurants and nightlife hot spots nearby both beaches.
