Celuk Village

Celuk Village, one of many small crafting villages near Ubud in central Bali, is famous for producing high-grade gold and silver handicrafts, particularly jewelry. While these items are found in stores throughout the island, a visit to Celuk Village gives travelers a chance to see goldsmiths and silversmiths in action.
The main road through the town is lined on either side with galleries and artist workshops, many doubling as households where jewelry-making has been in the family for generations. Apart from intricate bracelets, rings, necklaces, earrings and Balinese ceremonial jewelry, the artisans of Celuk Village also produce beautiful silverware, trays and dishes which can be bought directly from the men and women who made them.

Celuk Village is located on the main road between Denpasar and Gianyar. While many items will display price tags, bargaining is still the norm; start with half what’s shown on the tag and go from there.
