The best cave is Loyang Koro, 6km from town on the lake's southern side. Ask in the house next door for them to turn on the lights and then scramble and crawl through chambers where bats and swifts dart in and out between the stalactites that drip down off the cave roof. Boats can be hired from beside the cave. The road out to the caves passes numerous little fish farms and rural hamlets. A becak from town will cost around 30,000Rp return with waiting time.
