From the water-sports area, a trail around the south side of the lake goes to the mundane Goa Jepang (Japanese Cave), which was dug during WWII. From there, a difficult path ascends to the top of Gunung Catur (2096m), where the old Pura Puncak Mangu temple is popular with monkeys. Allow about four hours to hike up and back from Taman Rekreasi Bedugul.
