Also known as ‘Nakame’, Naka-Meguro doesn’t look like much when you get out of the station. Cross the street with the tracks overhead, however, and in one block you’ll hit the Meguro-gawa, a tree-lined canal flanked by stylish cafes, restaurants and boutiques. You’ll find more hip options in the lanes behind. Nakame is a favourite haunt (and home) of fashion, art and media types, whose tastes are reflected here. This is the kind of place that rewards exploring.
