Deerland is a mini petting zoo in the forest with three species of deer that visitors can feed and pet. The deer are kept in reasonable-size enclosures and don't seem all that unhappy with regular attention from visitors bearing carrots (sold by park management) though we can't vouch for its animal-welfare credentials. Taxis from Temerloh run RM120 round-trip.
There are also rabbits, peacocks, ostriches and a fairly wide variety of birds living in the park, as well as a massive python that you can pose with for a memorable photo. The team also leads 2½-hour medicinal herb jungle treks (reserve at a least one week in advance) that include lunch and an adventurous river crossing along a network of swinging ropes. Similar treks lasting up to three days can also be arranged.
