Touted as the world’s first ‘Islamic civilisation park,’ Taman Tamadu Islam, 2.5km west of Kuala Terengganu, is essentially a series of miniature models of famous Islamic landmarks from across the world, including Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock and Mecca’s Masjid al-Haram. The highlight of the park is the Crystal Mosque . Widely considered among the world’s most beautiful mosques, it features a particularly striking steel, glass and crystal exterior. Heritage Bus C-02 runs here, and a taxi will cost around RM15.
River cruises (adult/child RM21/16) spend around one hour exploring the nearby waterways, but regular departures can be dependent on the number of other visitors in the park.
