This museum features sculpture and paintings using traditional indigenous techniques as well as pieces inspired by Borneo’s flora, fauna and landscapes. At research time the museum was closed for renovations but was due to reopen in late 2015 with additional exhibits (previously contained in the now permanently closed Dewan Tun Abdul Razak gallery) on Sarawak’s fascinating history, from the Brunei sultanate through to the Brooke era, prehistoric archaeology including important finds from the Niah Caves, and Chinese ceramics.
