15km northwest of the mountain, this is one of the largest caves in Mongolia, but you have to descend into its subterranean gloom through a narrow crack to witness this - not an outing for the claustrophobic. Sometimes the entrance is covered in ice well into the warmer months, but if you see the cave's three chambers (the back wall looks like a dead end but you can squeeze under the overhang) in winter or spring, its walls, covered in ice crystals, emit an eerie glow. Even at the height of summer, the cave feels like a freezer and you’ll need a torch for exploration. The cave is believed to project positive energy, and is visited by wrestlers seeking victory.
