This hilltop near the river and just to the north of the main street features a pavilion, nine stupas and the concrete likenesses of an elk, ibex and argali sheep. The views from the top are good. To the northeast, 1.6km away, you can just make out the ruined remains of the once-walled Manchu military garrison , between the river and the distant hills. You can walk to the ruins across the grassy meadow in about 20 minutes. There’s little to see, but it's a pleasant stroll.
