Avarga Toson Mineral Spring
This is the natural spring from which Ögedei Khaan drank and was cured of a serious stomach ailment. You can fill your water bottles with the delicious, naturally slightly salty and carbonated spring water at a pump house near the site for T100 a bottle.

Övgön Khiid
These ruins are a lovely 45-minute (2km) walk along a well-defined path up the valley to the right of Erdiin Khambiin Khiid. The monastery was built in 1660 and destroyed (and the monks massacred) by the armies of Zungar Galdan Bochigtu, a rival of Zanabazar’s, in 1640.

Natural History Museum
Here youll find a collection of stuffed wildlife from around the aimag, wearing bemused expressions as an unintended effect of the inexpert taxidermy, plus mildly interesting exhibits on local geology and flora. Entry is free if you’ve already paid for the Aimag Museum.

Galdan Zuu Temple
Up the hill from the aimag museum, this temple has been renovated with donations from locals. It stands behind an impressive 7m statue of the Buddha. Behind the temple is a large, near-vertical, rocky hill called Bulgan Uul, where there are some Buddhist inscriptions .

Biger Red Yabar
