Tacloban's most famous daughter is Imelda Romualdez Marcos, whose family home is in Tolosa, one of the coastal towns most devastated by Typhoon Yolanda. The family’s influence in Tacloban is evident in street names and in this prominent old mansion built with the Marcos' millions, yet bizarrely never slept in. Today it houses a varied display of antiques and objets d’art, with each room dedicated to a Filipino province, as well as a bizarre diorama of Imelda doing good deeds.
Upstairs has rooms for each of the family members, while on the ground floor is the gaudy Santo Niño shrine.
