By far the best use of your time in Bolinao is coming to this research facility–cum–visitor centre. Researchers at the laboratory of the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute cultivate coral-producing giant clams and transplant them to Hundred Islands National Park and as far away as Australia and Malaysia. The institute is about 1.5km east of Bolinao wharf; look for a marked right turn 200m before the pier.
