Hikes originating in nearby Besao are as good as those around Sagada (minus the coffins), and you can always scrounge up lodging in a local house for P250 a night. Jeepneys and buses bound for Besao pass through Sagada throughout the day, but the last trip from Besao is midmorning, so day trippers may have to hire private transport for the return trip to Sagada. It’s a 10km journey over a partially paved road.
