The former home where Ferdinand Marcos was born on 11 September 1917 takes pride of place in the small village of Sarrat, 15km east of Laoag. The displays embellish the former dictator's legal career, and the nearby Santa Monica Church hosted the wedding of Marcos' youngest daughter in 1983 – at a price tag of over US$10 million.
