MacRitchie Nature Trail
Located within the MacRitchie Reservoir Park, the MacRitchie Nature Trail encompasses a series of boardwalks and hiking paths between 2 and 7 miles (3 and 11 kilometers) long, winding through the lush tropical rain forests just outside the city. Nature lovers needing a break from the skyscrapers and traffic of Singapore will find themselves surrounded by rubber trees and other native flora.
Boardwalks line the edge of the park, or you can choose to hike the trails crisscrossing through the center. If you want a different perspective, head up to the TreeTop Walk, a 820-foot (250-meter) suspension bridge that allows visitors to walk through the jungle canopy.
The park offers free admission and is open daily. If you get hungry, there’s a cafe inside the visitor’s center, as well as restrooms and a place to pick up more information on the park. Color-coded signs in English indicate trail length and difficulty, making it easy to navigate the park even for first timers.
