Contemporary architecture and original building concepts are also abundant in Paju Book City, 10km south of Heyri. Check out theAsia Publication Culture & Information Centre , partly clad in rusting steel that picks up the colours of the environment and juxtaposed with a beautiful example of a hanok (traditional house), dating from 1834 and transported here from the province of Jeollabuk-do.
Paju is also known for its shopping, and is home to a couple of fashion malls, Premium Outlets and Lotte Outlets .
Between Heyri and Paju, the Odusan Unification Observatory provides another chance to gaze across the DMZ into North Korea.
