On Naksan Park hill, overlooking Heunginjimun (Dongdaemun), near a stretch of the City Wall, this modern museum offers an engaging history of the 18.6km-long wall that surrounds the city. There are plenty of high-tech interactive displays, combined with artefacts from the original wall and a model of Sungnyemun gate built from Lego bricks.
Originally built in the 14th century, with many sections rebuilt several times since, the city is continuing with restoration of the wall and aiming to have it inscribed on Unesco’s World Heritage list.
