Perched on a hill overlooking the town of Gochang, Moyang Fortress is an impressive structure built in 1453 during the Joseon dynasty. The ivy-covered, 1.6km-long fortress wall with three gates surrounds a complex of reconstructed buildings. A local legend says that if a woman walks three times around the wall with a stone on her head during a leap year, she will never become ill and will enter paradise.
