Ramboda Falls

At over 100 meters high, Ramboda Falls is the 11th tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It’s located between Pussellawa and Nuwara Eliya at the Ramboda Pass on the A5 highway, and is formed by Panna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya.
This impressive waterfall is made up of three parts, and because of its size, these sections need to be viewed from different vantage points. To view the top part, visitors must follow a pathway just before the bridge on the approach to the falls and then climb up. It’s a semi-challenging climb, but entirely worth the effort for the views of the top section of the falls, as well as far-reaching views of its surroundings.
The lower part of the waterfall is located underneath the bridge near the road. Along with the middle of the falls, visitors can get a good view of this section from the main road, but to view this part in all its glory, be sure to walk down to access the Ramboda basin.

Practical Info

The falls are located along the A5, just past the Ramboda Tunnel. A good view of the middle section of the falls can be viewed from the main road, just above the bridge. There are a number of hotels in the immediate vicinity.
